The English Language Day was celebrated on April 23, 2024 to commemorate the importance of the English Language as a global means of communication and cultural exchange.  The Day coincides with the Birthday of William Shakespeare, the Father of English Literature. A special Intercom Assembly was conducted by the students of Class 4 & 5 highlighting the significance of English language as a bridge between different cultures and society.   A glimpse into the life and literary work of William Shakespeare was given by students in the assembly. A famous sonnet of William Shakespeare ‘Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day’ was very well articulated by a student. Various literary aspects and the linguistic diversity of this language were highlighted by students through interesting poems, prose, tongue twisters, famous quotations etc. Students emphasized the importance of reading books to enhance language skills. Later, during the day, students of Class 3, 4 & 5 made and decorated the Class Bulletin Boards with beautiful book covers of famous novels of their choice. Students of Class 1 & 2 practiced and honed their writing skills through an English Calligraphy Activity and displayed the same on their class boards.

Through recognition and celebration, English Language Day promotes the continued learning and appreciation of this influential and predominantly used global language.
