On February 23, 2024, a First Aid Training and Techniques Workshop was held in the school auditorium for Carmel staff.
Dr. Madhur Kalra (Head of Emergency Department in Alchemist) along with Dr. Paramjit Singh Mann (Medical Superintendent, Alchemist and Ojas Hospitals) conducted the session. Dr Kalra demonstrated the technique for CPR and also explained use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) which can be used for CPR at home and in schools and are also found in a number of public places.
Through a presentation, Dr Kalra explained the First Aid techniques for Brain Stroke, Spinal injuries, burns, wounds, fractures, nose bleeds, insect, dog and snake bites. Another important situation requiring attention is panic attack which is very common in school children was addressed. In the end the teachers asked pertinent questions which were answered by Dr. Paramjit Singh Mann and Dr. Kalra.
