On 11th November 2024, UKG students participated in a hands-on session on The Art of Upcycling, held in the school auditorium. This engaging event encouraged students to explore creativity and environmental responsibility through simple, practical activities. The session introduced students to upcycling by repurposing common household items. They learned how to make sock puppets from old socks, transforming everyday materials into playful, imaginative creations. The children also tried their hand at creating paper flowers from scrap paper, discovering how to turn waste paper into something decorative and useful. The event concluded with a terrarium-making activity, where students created small, enclosed gardens using plants, soil, and stones. This final activity helped them connect with nature while reinforcing the theme of sustainability. Overall, The Art of Upcycling session was a valuable experience, sparking creativity and inspiring students to think about reusing materials in meaningful ways. It left our young learners with practical skills and a greater appreciation for caring for the planet.
