Model Making

Students from classes VI, VII and VIII designed and constructed science models during the summer break. The models were based on various scientific principles they learned in their curriculum. The models  included topics such as renewable energy, the solar system, human anatomy, or basic machines etc. Alongside model-making, students also demonstrated simple science experiments, explaining the concepts and reasoning behind them. It was a compulsory activity in which all students participated. The activity was taken up as the subject enrichment activity for term1, session 2024-25. Best 10 to 12 projects were shortlisted per section for the science exhibition

Science Exhibition

The  selected science models and activities were showcased in a school-wide exhibition on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Students presented their projects to their peers, teachers, and parents, fostering public speaking skills and collaborative learning. It not only encouraged their creative thinking and problem-solving skills but also reinforced theoretical concepts through practical application. It also promoted teamwork among students working in groups. There was an overwhelming response from the audience. The exhibits were judged by Ma’am Harpreet and Ma’am Anu Kapoor. The best teams/students were awarded certificates of excellence.

The Science Behind Magic Tricks

Various "magic" tricks were performed by students of classes 9 and 10 in groups of four, such as optical illusions, chemical changes and disappearing objects. The activity was held on July 31st, 2024 in the Biology Lab. After each trick, students explored the scientific principles involved, such as refraction of light, magnetism, or chemical reactions that make the tricks possible. Students attempted to replicate the tricks themselves, followed by a discussion on how science can explain these phenomena. This activity enhanced critical thinking by encouraging students to question and investigate. It demonstrated  the application of scientific principles in fun and engaging ways and also Increased enthusiasm for learning physics, chemistry, and biology.
